One Halloween about five years ago I went out with a 4×5, a white seamless and a portable strobe to get some Halloween documentation just for the fun of it. I set up next to a restaurant that had a major costume contest so as to have a bit more luck with folks being really decked out. My friend Lucien, previously known as Mark, somewhat willingly helped out and we were shooting for about three hours if I remember correctly. All sorts of ridiculous things happened, but of course it turned out to be a night that I still think of often and I look forward to doing it again sometime. I used Type 55 Polaroid (RIP) and chrome. Here are some of the results I just scanned quickly. There is more definition in the negs than you see here, but you get the gist. Fun stuff and the people we met were absolutely unforgettable! Thanks again Luci!
This image by Jens Meyer/AP just makes me plum happy. The colours are fun and beautiful, the concept is magical and the delight in that little girl’s heart could power NYC for a month. It makes me want to turn the trees in my neighbourhood into an Easter egg wonderland too. sigh
This seems to have the potential of being a new inspiring, fresh, and empowering art piece for women of all ages. Ok, that and the photo is reminiscent of the Canadian flag. What?! I’m a suckah for my roots ok.
This is the kind of art that is so impressive and seemingly so far out of my realm of possibilities. The artist is Marc Quinn and the piece is called ‘Planet’. This was part of an exhibition by Sotherby’s held at the Chatsworth House Gardens that ran from September to November 2008. Pure awesomeness. малолетки порно бесплатно онанирующие девки
Good Morning! My sweet amazing mother sent me this outdoor thermometer. It’s not just ANY thermometer either. Back in Montana where she lives, there’s this red headed, facially hairy man, at least that’s what I remember of him, who owns a shop called Three Dog Down. Great shop, full of high quality down products from comforters to slippers and at some point I recall they were making something for the US Coast Guard, but don’t quote me on that. Anyway, Bob the nutty but lovable red headed man, also has a rousing sense of humour. Whether you like it at first or not, you WILL somehow grow to genuinely laugh at his quips. Take a closer look at the photo of the thermometer and you’ll get a better idea of what I’m talking about. Hope you enjoy it.
I love me some packaging. I will in fact buy something just because I like what’s on the box. A simple combination of a cartoon-like photo and text on the front, and happy drawings of making the muffin on the back. I am instantly happy when I look at it. An emotion from a box. In a way, I want to be friends with this muffin box. Maybe go swing in the park or play tag. I’ll be sure to let you know if we become bffs.
At Youth In Focus, where I teach Advanced B&W (film)Photography, we take Polaroids of each student, teaching artist and mentor at the start of the quarter and post it for all to see. Here’s my snapshot from Fall quarter 2008. Inspiring isn’t it.
After voting Tuesday, I drove to the Pike Place Market to meet with a close friend for a celebratory drink. Little did we know just how celebratory it would be only a few hours later. I digress, I parked, paid the parking meter, and as I stepped in front of my truck I glanced down and saw this scene. The sign, the leaf, the beam of light were so perfect. Thank goodness for mobile phone cameras eh?
This past weekend a few friends and I took a mini road trip to Montana. Beautiful weather and autumn colours followed us all four days. Here are a few shots for now.
