After voting Tuesday, I drove to the Pike Place Market to meet with a close friend for a celebratory drink. Little did we know just how celebratory it would be only a few hours later. I digress, I parked, paid the parking meter, and as I stepped in front of my truck I glanced down and saw this scene. The sign, the leaf, the beam of light were so perfect. Thank goodness for mobile phone cameras eh?

Today I was demonstrating basic lighting techniques to my Advanced B&W students at Youth in Focus. This is Joy, she’s one of our outstanding mentors. She’s a unique and stunning beauty and so intuitive she puts my skills to shame. Thanks for being our model Joy!

Super Dave and I took a stroll this weekend at West Seattle’s Alki Beach. It wasn’t cold, it wasn’t warm. I think the woman resting on the sand with her feet up is amazing. That sand was cold, real cold and there was a slight breeze too. A feat I could only photograph. Seattle is enjoying a gorgeous autumn and I am enjoying all the new people in my life I get to photograph.
